About

Hello, and welcome to The Spoonie Mama! You might be wondering who I am and why I started this blog. You might also be wondering what the name of this blog means.

For starters, I am a “spoonie”: someone who has limited energy because of chronic illness. I am also a mother. Both are major aspects of my identity.

Chronic illness and parenthood are the most difficult challenges I have faced, but they have shaped me into who I am. That’s why I call myself “The Spoonie Mama.”

I created this blog to share my journey, from giving birth to my son to beginning the path to recovery. I hope my story resonates with others who are experiencing similar struggles. But even if you are not chronically ill, this blog is for you. Even if you are not a parent or caretaker, this blog is for you.

The Spoonie Mama is about facing challenges and becoming the best version of yourself in spite of them. It’s about learning to love life, even if you don’t love everything that is happening in your life.

I hope this blog offers you guidance and comfort, no matter what you are going through. Even if you do not call yourself a spoonie or a mama, you are welcome here.
